Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that violates federal and state fair employment laws.
Employers should provide training so employees understand what sexual harassment is and how it can affect victims and working relationships.
In addition to examples of unlawful conduct, training should cover behavior that violates an employer's policies on professional conduct. The focus of training should be to prevent harassment from occurring in the workplace.
Some states (e.g. California, Connecticut, and Maine) require employers to provide sexual harassment training so employees know what unlawful sexual harassment is and how to report it if it occurs.
