Title: Workplace Plans, Policies, Documentation, and Data Collection During a Pandemic

Time: 3:00 PM EDT

--

When an employer is ready to open their facility for employees and perhaps customers there are almost an endless list of things to consider. Work processes, engineering controls and PPE need to be considered to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. A good place to start would be an Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan. Part of that plan would involve a hazard assessment so that policies and procedures can be developed and implemented to guide and inform employees.

Closing Keynote | Enhancing Climate to Change Your Culture

Time: 5:30 - 5:50 PM Safety Standout Virtual Awards Ceremony, 5:50 - 6:50 PM EDT SafeStart Closing Keynote

--

Organizational culture encompasses many physical and behavioral aspects of the workplace—safety, production, values, beliefs, leadership styles, traditions and more. But culture can often be described with just one sentence: “the way things are done around here.”

Climate factors are the elements (and people) that affect culture. Workplace climate changes from moment to moment, from one department to another and it’s created, shaped and influenced one conversation or event at a time.

Organizational success relies heavily on understanding how to influence climate and the key to achieving this is the correct application of the Human Factors Framework. Knowing how to leverage the connection between individual workers and organizational systems can help use climate factors to create positive change and other desired organizational outcomes.

Session participants will:

  • Explore the Human Factors Framework and why it’s so essential to achieving desired outcomes;
  • Review climate elements that contribute to an enhanced culture;
  • Appreciate the importance of using a change management model that fits their organization; an
  • Acquire leadership tools necessary for influencing their workplace climate.
