About Keynote Speaker Hector Alvarez:

 

Mr. Alvarez is a security expert who specializes in workplace violence prevention and is a Certified Threat Manager™ by the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. He holds a MS in Forensic Psychology and a BS in Criminal Justice. He has built over 25 years of threat management, security, domestic terrorism and crisis management experience serving as a Security Director protecting one of our nation's most sensitive critical infrastructures, to working as a city police officer and as a professional security consultant. He understands the challenges individuals and organizations face when addressing the threats of violence because he has responded to them. In addition, he has helped organizations recover from significant incidents of violence, was a responder to both the Loma Prieta Earthquake and the Aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

He has personally assessed and/or responded to thousands of potentially violent situations, developed numerous violence prevention programs and trained tens of thousands of employees and managers in the areas of crisis intervention, active shooter response, violence prevention, domestic terrorism and emergency management.

He is frequently called upon as commentator, public speaker and has made numerous media appearances. He has been featured on ABC10, KCRA3, CBS13, FOX40, Univision, KFBK, Sacramento Bee, Folsom Telegraph, Sacramento Business Journal, and Society for Human Resources (SHRM). Clients include a broad range of industries from the public and private sector.

 

About Keynote Speaker Tracy Reinhold:

 

Tracy Reinhold is Chief Security Officer at Everbridge. He is responsible for advancing Everbridge’s enterprise-level security strategy, as well as working closely with customers and partners to optimize their organizational approach to managing and responding to critical events.

 

Reinhold has served in executive leadership roles in security and incident management for some of the world’s largest brands. As Chief Security Officer at Fannie Mae, a leader in mortgage financing with more than $3 trillion in assets, Reinhold was responsible for designing and managing the company’s enterprise resilience strategy. He established a robust enterprise response model that enabled senior leaders to respond to security and business disruptions in an efficient and consistent manner. His leadership was instrumental to ensuring the safety and security of all employees, contractors and visitors at locations nationwide, and successfully protecting company assets including over 3 million square feet of office space.

 

Prior to Fannie Mae, Reinhold served as Vice President of Global Investigations at Walmart. He had been recruited by the retail giant to investigate and protect company interests related to compliance and ethics concerns across its global portfolio. In less than three years, he created and led a team of global investigators in the United States, Asia, Africa, South America and the United Kingdom.

 

Prior to his commercial roles in security, Reinhold served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for twenty-two years. During this time, he was a member of the Senior Executive Service, served as Associate Executive Assistant Director for National Security, and led the FBI’s intelligence division. Reinhold is a frequent speaker across the industry on topics including “Improving Organizational Resilience Through Enhanced Security Practices” and “The Changing Role of the CSO in Today’s Corporate Landscape.”

Burke Brownfeld is Director of Global Safety and Security for Visa Incorporated, where he oversees a variety of programs to include global workplace health and safety, as well as the company's hostile intruder training program. He is also a writer, speaker, and documentary film producer, with extensive  experience working, living, and adventuring in both the United States and internationally. Burke has worked as a police officer in Virginia, served as a regional security manager for the United States Peace Corps In Latin America, and oversaw security for the Washington DC metro system. Burke is also a dual citizen (United States and Iceland) with a passion for exploring new places, languages, and cultures. Burke served as a Consulting Producer on the film Charm City, and used this film to teach Baltimore police recruits about Empathetic policing. Burke continues to be passionate about solving problems related to corporate security leadership as well as the criminal justice system.

About Speaker Doug Haines:


Doug is a career security professional. He retired from active duty with the US Air Force in 1993. He spent the next 20 years working for the U.S. Government, primarily overseas in Europe. He has over 50 years of experience in conducting physical security vulnerability assessments and risk analysis. He’s been teaching these concepts to architects, engineers, planners, facility managers, security professionals and others involved in developing mitigation strategies and building design planning since 2006. He’s both a guest lecturer and Adjunct Professor teaching access control concepts and security systems integration in academia. He’s widely sought after to share his knowledge at industry conferences around the globe. Whether in India, Saudi Arabia or New York his audiences gain valuable knowledge in solutions strategies they can take back to the office. He regularly contributes to security industry publications. He’s considered a subject matter expert in integrating antiterrorism and “soft security design” strategies into high occupancy inhabited spaces.
